Hortensia Handmade Fall 2010 collection at Designers & Agents in New York.

We will be presenting our new Fall 2010 collection at Designers & Agents in New York City starting this Saturday 20th through Monday the 22nd. We are very excited as this is one of the most important shows during fashion week. Buyers from all over the country and overseas will be coming as well as people from the press. And we have been invited to participate in the Press Mannequins that will be displayed at the show!!. Stay tuned as we will be tweeting and placing posts during the show…I’m sure there will be lots to report.

Our booth location will be at second floor of the Chelsea Art Museum located at 556 West 22nd Street New York, NY 10011 on the corner of 11th Avenue.

9am- 7pm, Saturday and Sunday, and Monday from 9am- 6pm.

Also showing the work of master weaver Oscar Huarancca, who creates truly stunning pieces of tapestries. And along with Huitzili’s beautiful selection of Mexican jewelry and clothes, Hortensia’s hats, scarves and knits will be available for sale…it’s getting chilly!

A new decade…and we are already mid January! Goes fast… now after all the Holiday celebrations, our trip to Peru ( to get the new fall collection ready) it’s time to catch up. Before we know it will be Spring!

I want to share with you some photos I took while in Lima, visiting the artisans markets and getting some interesting gifts. From the cutest  ”cholita” dolls, “Ekekos” for good luck, colorful blankets & artesanias, delicious chocolates to bizarre stuffed “cuy”  ( a guinea pig from the Andes) all dressed up in a miniature motorcycle, it was a feast to the eyes.

Now all pumped up for 2010 with lots of plans and goals.  Stay tune for some special events for the rest of the winter, our first Spring collection and some happennings straight from the red carpet… hope to see you all wrap on your Hortensia’s!

I’m so happy!, last weekend we had many great surprises. I had unexpected visits, met new friends and realize that all of my efforts to spread the word about Hortensia do make an impact.
